Agriculture with the touch of technology: Mobile apps to cope with disasters
A day-long training was held in Kuakata, Patuakhali to increase capacity in using BAMIS mobile app for modernization of the agricultural sector.
The workshop was organized at the conference room of Hotel D-More International, Kuakata at 10 am on Tuesday (September 23).
The training was organized by JAGO NARI, a non-governmental development organization, as part of the Child Centered Anticipatory Action Project.
The project was supported by Save the Children Bangladesh, technical assistance was provided by Rheims, and funding was provided by the German Federal Foreign Office. Currently, the project is being implemented in eight unions of Patuakhali Sadar and Kalapara Upazilas.
Former Director General of the Department of Agriculture Dr. Abdul Muhith presided over the program. Project Manager Nilufar Akhter Banu highlighted the purpose and importance of the training.
Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture Dr. Md. Amanul Islam. Kalapara Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Arafat Hossain, Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Nazmul Islam Majumder and Kalapara Agricultural Extension Officer Md. Nahid Hasan were present as special guests.
Among the honored guests of the training were Save the Children Officer Sanjita Halder, Senior Officer and Meteorologist of RIMS Md. Tanzilur Rahman and Apps Developer Md. Khairul Islam Antar.
A total of 30 Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers of Patuakhali Sadar and Kalapara Upazilas participated in this day-long workshop. The program was moderated by Jago Nar Project Officer Laiju Akhter.
JAGO NARI Project Officer Kishore Kumar Das, Mill Officer Maria Akhter Jintu, Accounts and Human Resources Officer Md. Ruhul Amin, Assistant Project Officer and various officers and employees, beneficiary partners and journalists, and a total of about 45 participants were present under the moderatorship of Laiju Akhter.
The lively facilitation of the chairman and the active participation of the participants made the training festive and fruitful.
