Free vaccination program to protect livestock before the cyclone season

JAGO NARI is conducting a vaccination campaign to ensure the prevention and protection of livestock diseases as part of the advance preparedness initiative in the coastal district of Barguna, keeping in mind the cyclone season and risks.
With the support of Start Network, through the PROHOR (Preparedness and Resilience through Organized Humanitarian Outreach and Readiness) Project and through the Upazila Livestock Department, this free vaccination program is being conducted in Dhalua Union of Barguna Sadar Upazila and Chhotobogi and Sonakata Unions of Taltoli Upazila.
A total of 3,000+ cows will be given Tadka and Badla vaccines under the program. In continuation of this, on 5 September 2026, camps were organized at five convenient locations in Wards 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 of Sonakata Union and 1,068 cows were successfully vaccinated.

The main goal of this initiative is to reduce the risk of livestock diseases by ensuring early vaccination at the local level and to strengthen the preparedness of farmers and herders to protect their assets and livelihoods during disasters including cyclones.
