Intercommunication workshop held to ensure youth development related services at the local level

An intercommunication workshop was held in Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali district to ensure youth development related services at the local level and strengthen coordination between service providers and youth communities. JAGO NARI’s PRODRIPTA Project organized this workshop with the technical assistance of CARE Bangladesh.
9 youth representatives from Mithaganj Union and 9 from Lalua Union under the PRODRIPTA Project of JAGO NARI participated in the workshop. In addition, members of various youth organizations based in Kalapara, local NGO representatives and relevant stakeholders were present. Representatives of AVASH and Friendship organizations also participated in the workshop.
Chairman of Mithaganj Union Parishad, Chairman of Lalua Union Parishad, Program Manager of CARE Bangladesh Md. Bayezid Bostami, Project Manager of JAGO NARI Mohammad Zafar Alam and journalist Milan Raju were present as special guests at the event.
The chief guest of the workshop was Kalapara Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Julhas ul Azad. In his speech, he said that skill development training is currently provided in more than 41 trades through the Youth Development Department. He urged the youth present to keep in regular contact with the Upazila Youth Development Office to receive these trainings and government services. He also detailed the various activities of the Youth Development Department for self-employment, skill development and entrepreneurship.
The main objective of the workshop was to increase effective communication between youth and government service providers, create awareness about existing government services and strengthen mutual cooperation and coordination between various youth organizations. A group work exercise was organized with the participants in the workshop. In this, youth representatives of different unions presented their opinions and action plans on the opportunities to work together at the local level, increase coordination with government institutions, take social development initiatives and the possibility of jointly implementing activities in the future.
The participants said that such workshops have created an opportunity for them to learn about government services and will play an important role in increasing mutual communication and cooperation between various youth organizations.
The workshop concluded successfully with active participation, open exchange of views, and a commitment to implement integrated initiatives in the future.
