‘Palki Bazar’ inaugurated for climate-resilient livelihood development

The ‘Palki Bazar’ has been formally launched for local producers in Bhuiyankanda area of Moudubi Union, Rangabali Upazila, Patuakhali. This initiative has been taken with the aim of building climate-resilient livelihoods, empowering local producers and expanding the market for local products.
‘Palki Bazar’ and the Producers’ Learning Center were inaugurated at a function organized under the Pradhipta Project on Monday afternoon, July 20, 2026. Local public representatives, officials from various government departments, project-related representatives, producers and local residents participated in the function.
Through this initiative, local farmers, women entrepreneurs and producers will get the opportunity to directly market their agricultural products, handicrafts and other local products. In addition, the learning center will play an important role in developing the skills of producers, exchanging experiences, increasing market connectivity, and providing training on adaptive agriculture and livelihoods to cope with the impacts of climate change.
This market has been established under the ‘Pradripta’ project implemented by JAGO NARI in collaboration with CARE Bangladesh. This initiative will not only strengthen the local economy but also help ensure sustainable livelihoods for coastal communities vulnerable to climate change.
