The speakers in the discussion said that health is not a benefit, it is a fundamental human right. But for a long time, the common people have been suffering due to mismanagement, lack of accountability and high medical costs in the health sector. Therefore, it is important to build a rights-based and accountable health system through the active participation of the people.
The workshop provided hands-on training on removing existing barriers to accessing healthcare, increasing citizen awareness, establishing good governance and building a health rights-based social movement at the local level. In addition, the outline of future activities was determined through group discussions, exchange of views and formulation of action plans.
